Fran's birthday...

Dear Mama,

Last night I went to a dinner party at new Maya's house. All the grown-ups were witches and Courtney was there. Maya was the queen and me and Courtney were the princesses. We all made our own pizzas. And the couch was a couch, a bed, and a giant trampoline. It was great.

This morning we baked cupcakes for Fran's birthday party. And some of them said "F", "R", "A" and "N" and the others have sprinkles. We are bringing 14 cupcakes for all the guests.

Now we've got to say "bye" because now we're going to brunch with Claire and Blake and Nana.

I love you like a chameleon's tongue! I am so excited you are coming back so soon. Just in three weeks!

Love,
Julia

PS - I went to the Met with Maimai and Baba yesterday and they bought me a great Egypt pen (see below).

  1. And, and, and....did you tell Mama what a great ball catcher you've become? That you can clap once, twice, even thrice and still catch the ball, no sweat? How amazing is that? More amazing that a monster chameleon's tongue!

And that made little Madeline laugh so hard in the attic (I mean on the 10th floor) that her parents are going to rush out and buy balls to bounce and make her happy?

And that you walked all the way back from the Met to your apartment without a single complaint except that you wished all three of us would have stayed on the slick part so that we could slip and slide all the way home?

And that you learned lots of new words in the Metropolitan class about Buddhist and Hindu art, including "transcend," "savior," and "peril"?

And that our cute waiter Freddy combed his hair with an electric beater?
