The Curse of Too Many Objects...

Hi miss girl,
First off: same question as always--how is your tooth? Is it still wiggly?? I sure loved seeing you last night, kind of. I hope you're not so blurry in real life, are you??
Well, I have to tell you about something very weird that is happening over here. Three days ago in the other end of the street from where I was working, the other archaeologists began to find lots and lots and lots of ostraca. (an ostracon is a pot sherd that someone once wrote on--kind of like scratch paper). They found 20 or so, which was way more than anyone had ever found in one day, and then that afternoon, Sander, who was the main person down in the trench fell sick. So, then the next day a student named Sarah was down in the trench, and she found 34 ostraca in one day. And then yesterday, guess what happened: Sarah fell horribly ill and that evening and had to be rushed to the hospital because she had something called a kidney stone. So I spent much of that evening with her while she got x-rays. So, now today, my supervisor, Mirjam was down in the trench and then she got sick. She had to leave the field early and now she's up in bed. So we've decided that there is a curse. I am lucky because I've been working in a pretty boring area with a lot of brown dirt, but very few finds. I didn't feel lucky about that, but now I do!!
And you, miss girl? Tell me about you and your day and what fun you're doing in school and ACT and home. I sure am glad that no Martians took you away at Liana's party!!!
Love, love, love,
- your mama
p.s. My showers have been pretty good lately because I finally found a good one!
p.p.s. I think this might be one of the cutest baby donkeys ever...
