Little Welshies

Hi peanut,
So, you liked Finn! Did you like his accent? Do you know that you would have sounded just like him if we'd stayed in Wales? Ask Dada to imitate how the Welsh would pronounce "Lovely!" It was very cute!! Well did you have a nice end of your week? Over here it was our one-day weekend, and I took it easy. Lots of people went to climb the escarpment (I'll send you a picture of the scarp), but since I've done that now two years in a row and since I had a lot of work to do I stayed home. Turned out that may have been a good idea. No one brought enough water with them, so lots of people got quite faint (and one actually fainted!!). Everyone talked about it as if they almost died, but I remember it being pretty fun last year. I might do it next weekend, but we'll see. If I do, I will bring LOTS of water.
So, I stayed home and worked and also walked into Mut and bought some little gifts for my
"hidden habibi". This is something that the students are doing for Valentine's Day. Everyone picks someone's name and buys them little presents for Valentine's Day and for the days leading up to it, but no one knows who is giving them presents. Trouble is that there is not much to buy in the local town... Luckily my habibi really likes carrots, juice and cinnamon cappuchino powder, and all that was available. I also wrote her a poem. Her name is Dorthea, and she's painting the villa (I'll send a picture of the room she's painting). The poem has Arabic words in it, so I'll translate them in parenthesies

There once was an artist named Dorthea
Whose paintings were quite meya-meya (that means 100% in Arabic)
She painted tons of dots
and ate carrots (lots!)
And now she deserves an istareyha (that's Arabic for rest--since I gave the gifts on her day off)

Not so good as your poems, but writing it made me think of you.

I love you and Dada,
you are my real habibis

love, love, love,
your Mama
