Dear Mama,
I was very good at ice skating on Friday! Ms. Pemberton told me that if you can walk on the mats, then you can ice skate. I could walk on the mats, so that meant I could ice skate. I skated into the middle of the skating rink all by myself! I only fell six or seven times during the whole morning. Whenever I was on the ground, my buddy was right over me. My regular buddy wasn't there so Nathan helped me. Nathan is in 4th grade and he is very nice. And he is VERY good at ice-skating too.
And then I got to get out of school early. WHOAAAA!
That night, Dada and me went to the SQUEAKQUEL of Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was about... well, everyone went to the hospital. Except Alvin and the Chipmunks and Toby, the good person's son. There were also the Chipettes (the girl Chipmunks). I loved it and it was very very fantastic. My favorite part was when they dumped Toby's head in the toilet!
Then, on Saturday I had a play date with Mira. We got to touch an iceberg that was coming out of the rocks in Central Park. And we planted acorns down by the lake. And the lake was frozen. Later that night, I went to hear the orchestra of Peter and the Wolf in the Winter Garden Theater. I thought it was super duper boring but Dada liked it.
Today I went to MOMA with Sash for the Sunday morning kid's tour. I drew pictures and they gave me a lightbulb to try to make it different. So we thought that because a lightbulb is supposed to be light, that we could paint it black or that we could put it in the dark. We also looked at four bikes that looked like they smashed together. They were made by an artist named Orozco. He also had a clay ball that weighed the same as his body, and he rolled it around the city, and it picked up all the things off the street. I wish we had that in New York! That would be super duper useful.
Tonight, we came home and found a GOLDEN TICKET from Willy Wonka in the mail!!! Do you know what that means????!! That I get to go to the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" on the 31st day of January at MOMA. Do you know that that movie was by Tim Burton and we saw a lot of his movies and sculptures at MOMA today?
I think my week has been very fun.
Love,
Julia
